Ultra Bleu World Premiere / by Nick Neon

One year since my last post and I'm back with some amazing news.  But to backtrack:  Last year this time, I was between a rock and a hard place.  I was experiencing the endlessness of restlessness.  I had been in Go Mode for 2.5 years without taking a step back to see where I stood.  So finally last June, I took time away from Nick Neon TV, music video directing and everything else that was going on in my life to focus on myself and what I truly wanted out of life.

It was FILM, plain and simple.  Quietly, I set my sights on redirecting my focus.  I spent the summer writing the treatment for my next feature film, ULTRA BLEU.  As I began to write more and more, it became clear to me that I was going to need a proper budget and a real production team.  So I decided I would make two versions of ULTRA BLEU.  The short film, Ultra Bleu, would be produced as a means to gain funding for the feature, ULTRA BLEU, and to also act as a proof of concept.  I would shoot the short in the fall of 2015 and have it ready for festival consideration by early 2016.

Cut to April 2016 and my film is about to world premiere at SENE FEST 2016 in Providence, Rhode Island!  And now I'm writing ULTRA BLEU, I've got an amazing team behind me and I finally moved back to America.

There has been so much mental upheaval in the year since.  But I've also been so fortunate to be surrounded by so many supportive + healing people.  I think back on how helpless I felt and it turns out I'm living proof that everyday you don't give up is another day closer to living your dream.

Dreams never die.  Make shxt happen.

Life is good and this blog is back with a vengeance.

PS - If you're in Rhode Island this weekend, please do come join me for a lot of alcohol and film celebrating.  Or be there in spirit.
